CRL Mortise Mounted Shear Lock offers the advantage of a totally concealed locking mechanism featuring a patented design offering unique advances. Unique mounting features provide a "floating" action of both the lock assembly and the armature. This design allows the magnet assembly to move towards the armature during the locking process. In this manner, the GF3000 Series is able to overcome gaps of up to 1/4" (6 mm) without current inrush.
Once engaged, the Shear Lock provides 3000 lbs. holding force, without high operating temperatures. The circuitry automatically adjusts input voltage, allowing for operation from 12 to 24 Volt DC power sources. The Shear Lock is ideally suited for Herculite® type doors with top or bottom rails, as well as commercial grade hollow metal doors and frames. All models offer a built-in automatic relock feature that can be adjusted from 1 to 30 seconds. Universal hardware is included for installation into flush or recessed depth door edge. The "BRD" model is available for floor mounting applications when no top rail mounting is available.
