C.R. Laurence’s Groundbreaking Entice® Panic Device
to Premiere at GlassBuild America

New Emergency Egress Concept for Glass Doors Allows Specification of Matching Handle Hardware and Mounting Onto Double-Glazed 1" Insulating Glass

Close UpLOS ANGELES, CA – SEPTEMBER 4, 2018 – C.R. Laurence—a leading manufacturer and supplier of architectural glazing systems—has announced the release of its new Entice® Panic Device by Blumcraft® (a division of C.R. Laurence). The product will premiere in the C.R. Laurence booth at this year’s GlassBuild Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The patent-pending Entice Panic Device is a new type of emergency egress system. It features an ultra-narrow crash bar that’s engineered to easily and securely attach to the vertical panic component. This simplifies alignment and allows one-person installation. The unique 2-piece system also allows architects to specify a panic device with an interior handle that matches the exterior handle—an aesthetic benefit that was previously unavailable with panic devices for glass doors.

Using proprietary through-glass fittings, the Entice Panic Device can mount onto double-glazed 1" insulating glass along with 1/2" and 3/4" monolithic tempered glass. This capability is ideally suited for projects that require thermal entrances. It also creates a distinct floating-on-air aesthetic on thermal doors.

The Entice Panic Device’s ultra-narrow crash bar features a curved end that produces smooth, through-glass visuals and enhances safety by preventing clothing from being caught in emergency exit scenarios. The crash bar is able to handle the loads imposed during the emergency exit test required by UL.

“Built upon decades of engineering expertise through its Blumcraft heritage, the Entice Panic Device is an entirely new egress concept that represents the next generation of panic devices,” said Al Eini, brand manager of commercial hardware at C.R. Laurence. “We set out to design an industry-first panic device for IG units that maintains the premium aesthetics of tubular panics while simplifying installation. We succeeded on all fronts.”

The Entice Panic Device is offered in 4 popular sizes for immediate availability and shipment. For more information, visit C.R. Laurence at GlassBuild in booth 1227 or call (800) 421-6144.
